Sorry how is it that every phone call  provider whatever; in the UK seems to be launching the iPhone except my own phone call provider T-Mobile?!?! C'mon T-Mobile step your game up!!!! Gosh even Vodafone have  stepped aboard the iPhone train, why is T-Mobile lagging behind??? I swear the forces are against me, someone just does not want me to own an iPhone!!!

So I'm getting a lil bit nostalgic, because I can't believe that the noughties are almost over. I remember 1999, sitting in a school assembly as a 10 year old, all getting excited about the new millennium and the Y2K scares. Now it's almost over. It's kinda scary! It's like the years flew past. I finished primary education, secondary education, college and uni and now I'm out on my own as an adult. I can't believe how fast time has gone past. It feels like the year 2000 was only yesterday.

It's the media and there accusations that all celebrity deaths are due to drug use!!! Death is a sad time and it only makes matters worse when people are off in corners whispering and speculating that the reason for their death is due to them abusing drugs; be it prescription or illegal. Why is it that someone in the public eye cannot die due to natural causes and be able to rest in peace!!! Gosh it just makes me so mad!!

At this moment in time I am so upset. I can't believe that Brittany Murphy is dead. She was just 32; I know they say that death has no age but she was sooo young, and it is even sadder when someone that young dies! My heart goes out to her family at this difficult time. My prayers are with Brittany...RIP

The Cleveland Show

Omigosh I am so excited about the Cleveland Show coming to the UK. Yeah baby it's official E4 have launched a Cleveland Show page on their website:

stating that it will be coming in the new year. I know there are some like myself; whom are shocked that it didn't make its way onto BBC3 with its sister shows; Family Guy and American Dad. But being that E4 is a channel with a huge following, I believe that it will be a safe home for it.
I do have one question though...now that Cleveland has left the 'safe-haven' of Spooner Street; who will replace him???

So I've been on Twitter for a few months...a long story... which I will tell. So it started on Facebook I had just gotten over the loss of my beloved digital camera...which is another story. Don't worry I won't be telling it...TODAY! Anyhoo, so I was nursing my wounds from having just lost my beautiful pink Casio digital camera... I called her Cassie (R.I.P Cassie my love one day me and you will be reunited) and an advert flashed up about winning a brand spanking new camera. Those that know me, know I can't resist competitions and the others that know me, know I can't resist technology. So 1+1 equalled more than two so I thought wow this will help me get over Cassie, so I decided to enter. But there was a catch...I know I know...you're probably thinking "There is always a catch". Well, yes there was and this catch was that you had to be a member of the prestigious club of Twitter. At that moment in my life I was an anti-twitter; couldn't see the hype about it. But I was like this was one sacrifice I had to make in order to win this shiny new digital camera; it's what Cassie woulda wanted. So I joined...and there was another catch. In order to win this beautiful camera...wait for it...wait for it...wait for it. I had to take some photos...YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!! Why can't things be so simple like dropping your name and answering a coupla questions? No!No!No! This competition wanted you to take some photos. As you know by now this was not possible for me as of the recent passing of Cassie. So I thought forgetaboutit! And that's what I did. I forgot about it, until... curiosity got the better of me and I decided to check out my husbands twitter (no I am not married, that is another long story). I was hooked! Okay not totally hooked, I just liked having this false sense of closeness with my husband; wow how crazy do I sound. But yeah, it was nice; knowing what he was thinking (and again my inner stalker makes another appearance lol). So here I come to what this whole post was actually about. Tell me why. Please somebody tell me why. I have 5 followers. Yes I repeat 5 followers. When I have written jack all. I have not twitted one single thing. I find it quite flattering that some people in the world find my blank page so interesting.

A Lil' Trip Down Baywatch Lane

So I've been watching some episodes of Baywatch and all I can say...yes my favourite line...all I can say with a youthful smile is... I LOVE IT!!! Okay so some of the story-lines are a lil bit corny and the swimsuits are way too high up in the ******* area. But the flashes of red, the slo motion running and a young Hoff, brings back great memories of being young and happy!!!! When I was a kid it was my all time dream to be on an episode either being a Lifeguard itself or a person drowning, most times it was a drowning person lol. Trips to the swimming pool would consist of me and friends doing are slo mo life savings; this also occurred in the playground too. Oh the sweet sweet nostalgia!!!

I have recently frequented the Primark website, and boy how misleading it is. Making us poor souls think that we could at least see what Primark has to offer. But no we are forced to see writing/text or whatever you want to call it. This is not on, why must we have to foray in the sea of queues when we live in the 21st century and Internet shopping is thriving! This is not on! We the people should have the option to sit in the comfort of our own homes and shop, shop until our little fingers burn from all the clicking! Have you heard the news??? Or am I late on this one like I always am? YouTube have started showing full TV shows. Don't get too excited and run over there now and think you can watch anything. They only have a select few. At the moment, I'm watching Baywatch...yup I'm a nostalgic kinda gal...I used to love Baywatch when I was a kid, always imagined myself on it. Donning a red swimsuit and running in slow motion; or I'd see myself as a person drowning getting rescued. Oh happy days (Tear in eye).

The iPhone: Move Over Textbooks

It's times like this that I wish I was back at school!!! I know shock horror I said it...back...at...school and I put an 'I wish' at the beginning of it. No people I have not gone crazy due to the financial situation I'm in and lack of a prospective job, which is in fact driving me crazy, but that's another story. What I'm talking about, is something that I heard/watched on the news yesterday; which had me drawing for my navy jumper and dark skirt. The fact that these lucky kids in a school in some part of West London are using iPhones...yes I said iPhones as a way of learning. All I have to say is lucky ************ okay I can't say what I want to say with out the use of a swear word and I'm not to sure what those stars actually represent...I think I was just going a bit mad with the key. What I can say, are that those kids are so lucky. Omigosh, I am now officially old, I can't believe I actually used the word 'kids', it was only yesterday I was a kid myself, or so I like to think in my warped mind, who is fast approaching the tender age of 22 and saying over and over, it's not old, it's not old; I'm still young, I'm still young. Enough! Back to what I was saying. These kids use the excuse of apps (applications to those of you who do not understand shorthand) to help them with their lessons. Wait the best is yet to come. Get this, the lucky little tykes, as one of them stated only have to pay £10 of the call time. I DON'T BELIVE IT! I'm busting my balls off trying to find some kind of income, to pay for an iPhone which I have wanted for a long time; but can't afford cos the cheapest contract is £35 per calender month, and these kids, yes and I'm going to keep saying kids, just to make it more effective; these kids are ONLY paying £10, because their school is trying to pass off this little experiment of theirs as educational. All I can say is... that's not fair! Maybe I should find that uniform of mine, and try and sneak back into my old secondary school and see if I can get my hands on one. I say free iPhones for all; okay maybe just me.

Pack it in!! Edition 1: "PENULTIMATE EPISODES"

I don't know if its the Christmas fodder or if its because the end of the year is in plain sight but has anyone else noticed that everything on television is reaching its final episode especially if it was made in America??

Today, like a proper E4 junkie, I sat down and watched the final episode of Ugly Betty season 3 and like a proper nutter I went through a rollercoaster of emotions. Now I know some of you uppity blahs like to look down on this type of drama, a little bit gaudy, brightly coloured and sprinkled with its fair share of unfeasible developments but its not without humour damn it! Like a proper drama it does manage to develop its characters in a realistic way and throws in some intensity (death, disease, bankruptcy) in the mist of all the sparkle. Anyways....

If your from the States your not accustomed to viewing TV programmes about a year behind the rest of the world (unless your viewing from Nigeria...due to bad electricity its hard to get through one episode of anything over there) but if your a plain ol Brit and have succumbed to online streaming ahead of the scheduled broadcasting then here is a list of some of the programmes that have come or are coming to an end this month:

My first thoughts are...is this a 'REAL' video? No for real can somebody out there...anybody tell me if this is a real video. Because if it is not a real video, the my perceptions will change, but if it is a real video then all I have to say is...

BUTTCRACK...omg so I'm watching this at like ten something in the morning and all I get is a computer screen full of ASSSSSSS! I can tell you now it is not nice. Imagine waking up to butts in your face? It's not nice!

Okay why is the weatherman tryna lie to me telling me that it's going to be a clear day with sunny intervals, yeah right. I can just see it now, I leave my house wearing some nice clothes and shoes and there is another torrential downfall. Nah mate, I'm not feeling this hype. She is my favorite character on the show; I guess it's because she relates more to the veiwers that are not part of the popular/rich clique and in a way she is the people's person.

Aww the blissful memories I had as a kid! Getting excited every Christmas when it would come on telly; and now its back!

However, even with its new glossy surface I will always remeber the original, and it will always be my favourite.

REVIEW: Wale, Attention: Deficit

Ok... it’s so nice to listen to refreshing music; it’s even better when you buy an album and you can just sit there, dance there or lay there (or whatever you do when listening to music) and not have to repeatedly skip through the tracks!!!  

The feeling I got from listening to Wale’s ‘Attention Deficit’ was the same feeling I got from listening to early Kanye West music; an easy listen, different, funny, creative, thought provoking, intelligent, cocky and hard. Wale chooses to opt out of the mundane topics we're so used to hearing from new breed rap artist, you know the cliché? About ‘trapping’ and ‘how life was so hard growing up’. However this freshman picks very interesting and brave subjects to speak on.  

For example the track ‘Shades’ featuring Chrisette Michele (which is one of my favs) he talks about his insecurities being a dark skin male! He raps ‘I never fit in with them light skins/ I thought the lighter they was/ the better that they life is/ so I resented them and they resented me...’  

We have tracks like the opening song, which to me sounds like it has a heavy Fela Kuti/afro-beat influence in the beat. The song itself is like watching an opening scene from a sick movie and you get all excited, because you no it’s going to be good and it’s defiantly going to be worth the wait. He raps ‘I ain’t tryna be politically correct/But I won’t stop until I get my respect.’ (I swear I listened to this song at least 10 times before I moved on) 

My only wish is that ‘Ice and Rain’ made it to the album however we are compensated with ‘Diary’ featuring Marsha Ambrosius  and ‘90210’ produced by Mark Ronson.

As a first attempt I can proudly say that 'Attention Deficit' is a very impressive piece of work, which I give a:
Grade A.

To Tip or Not To Tip (Part One)

That is the burning question!

First we have to distinguish between a tip and a service charge.

A tip is a voluntary payment- a payment which the payee decides to pay (in accordance to how much and who to...blah blah...)
A service charge is a payment which a restaurant decides on (e.g. the amount)
(By the way these are my own definitions)

Phew, glad we got that out of the way...on with the story/article/or whatever you want to call it.

Okay so you walk into a restaurant, you sit down eat a meal, get ready to pay the bill and you see at the end that a service charge has been added. What do you do? According to which.co.uk; first you have to find out whether the charge is compulsory or not. If the charge is compulsory, by law the restaurant has to make this known to you before you eat your meal. The charge must be clearly indicted on the menu and either outside the building or immediately inside of the door.

If the service charge is not shown, you are within your legal right to not pay it. You can also get in touch with the Trading Standards and report the restaurant for unclear or misleading pricing, which is a criminal offence.

Also, if you feel that the service that you were given was poor, it is within your rights to refuse to pay it.

I cannot believe that it has been a year since My Freedom Years was established! Well technically over a year as I was elsewhere on the actual birthday/anniversary/or whatever you want to call it. Children In Need

It's that time again where you stay up for about 7 hours watching different types of entertainment, in order to raise money for kids. Yup you guessed it, it's Children in Need. In its 30th year Chidren in Need has helped thousands of children that have been in desperate need for help. It is also vetran Terry Wogan's 30th year and Pudsey's 25th.

The dedication that people take to raise money, is commendable. I remember when I was a kid, we did a trail of coins all the way from our primary school to the local church, I don't remember how much we raised, but the amount of pride we felt for raising that money was amazing.

Okay so there is this new website called odbody.com. Its a somewhat social networking site with a twist. Basically it allows you to create a life path. It allows you to record events that have happened to you in your lifetime, sort of like a personal time-line.

Wow it kind of reminds me of that programme 'This Is Your Life' when I was a kid I remember watching thinking, 'I really want one of these', so in a weird kind of way I guess I'm kind of getting one, but instead of it being delivered to me in a red book, it's available online.

Celebrity 'Relationships'

Why is the media so obsessed with celeb couples?

Okay I know that people want to read about them, but that is a different story. Today's discussion is about the 'media reports' that say that certain celebs are dating because the stepped out of the house together. I mean c'mon is there no such thing as friendship in the world of celeb? Can you imagine so and so are in a film together omigosh they're dating; so and so were spotted eating at a restaurant and getting close to each other, omigosh they're dating. I think it's altogether absurd. Can you imagine this happening in the real world (yeah I did say real world, this is the world that me and you live in), you spot people walking down the street together, omigosh they're dating, a postman (or woman or  if we are being politically correct post-person or whatever you want to call them) coming out of someones house; omigosh they're dating... hahaha. It's too much, wow maybe I need to throw myself in front of a celeb next time I see one getting papped and maybe the next time I google myself something better than my facebook account will come up lol.

This whole thing cracks me up. I'm like until a celeb says it out of their own mouth, I will never believe it; I'm not gonna lie to you, I will be intrigued and it is possible that I will google it. But I'm always gonna be sceptical.

Mate I have just heard the news and I am absolutely heartbroken. The love of my life Jensen Ackles is getting married; I'm like I didn't even know that he had a girlfriend. Gosh all them future plans I had for us cooked up in my head gone forever; lol that sounds bare stalkerish. I just want to say congratulations to him, I'm not one to be bitter. Alas the new Jay Z video is out!



Aww! This video is really patriotic, it is a real homage to New York. I love that, its makes you see how important the place where people are from is to them. I love songs where people talk positively about where their from. I dunno, maybe because it makes me reflect on where I've come from and makes me think positively about my own future and that when I am successful I can look back and say I am what I am because of my roots and where I've come from.

Alicia is on fire in this video. She is going crazy on that piano. It's like an extension of her body. I wish I could play the piano like her, heck I wish I could play the piano. I swear that girl has got pure passion, it's crazy to think that this is the same person who was gracing are screens with fallin'.

I'm also loving the use of black and white in the first half of the video. As an aspiring photographer/music video director myself, I feel that the use of black and white gives the video a sense of warmth and intensifies the message of the video.

"Concrete jungle where dreams are made of..." I swear down I am loving that line. Every time I hear it, it sends tingles down my spine. It speaks the truth, because New York is a place where a lot of people go to to recognise their dreams. This all goes back to what I was saying before with the patronage to where you are from.
As an aspiring photographer; i love the use of pictures, i feel that it adds a personal touch to the video. I also like the fact that it's not all girls, cars and glamour, that most hip hop videos are today. It's just basic, and that's what makes it special.

So marks outta 10, I'm gonna give a 7! I'm impressed.

Omigosh I feel robbed

So I was one of them late comers to the wonderful world of the Wii. How is it that there is a black Wii? Seriously I feel really robbed. If  I had just waited 5 months then I would have had a sexy black Wii. I'm sorry if I sound shallow I know that both colours will do the same thing but come on how many people can possibly say that they have an exclusive black Wii. Oh the pain, the pain of having to be so greedy and inpatient. the the funny story is that i barely play the thing so i could have just waited. The shambles!

Rant of the Day!

OMG! Why is the world so money hungry. People act like they are trying to help you and when you get to the bottom of it all you see that there is an ulterior motive and that they want something out of that help. I hate companies that go on like they are going to help you get into the media/television industry; you get all excited and then find out that in order to use a certain package or become a member you have to pay. Everyone knows that it is a hard industry to crack and these people are just taking advantage of the situation. AAAAAAAARGH! It just frustrates me so much 'cause there is no one out there that can help, I so wish I had chosen to become a doctor instead, then I know I would've had some kind of career help!

Okay here is where I get my inner geek on. As many people know I have never been a fan of Windows Vista, I mean yeah I bought the 'free' (£17.99 p&p) upgrade, but I was forever loyal to my XP; so when I heard that there would be a possibility of a new operating system from Microsoft I freaked out.

Yesterday was its official launch day! But unfortunately, at this moment in time I'm on my "I'm a broke ex-student" flex, so I will not be able to share in the glory of owning a computer with it just yet; but just knowing that when money does come, I have the chance to buy a spanking new computer that does not have Vista on it, makes me smile when I sleep.

 

But I don't want to put on my dancing shoes just yet and celebrate, because it may not live up to its hype, so I'm going to give it a lil bit before I give my 2 cents on whether it is better than its predecessor.

OMG! Bit late with this post but just wanted to say that from day dot I always believed that Henry was the killer; I said it! I said it! A Fresh Start

Okay so here we go. We have a new name. Yay! I thought the old one was a bit cheesy so i thought long and hard and thought what would be  a good name to sum up my life at this moment in time and then it hit me. I am living what many would call 'The Freedom Years' and in regards to one of my new favourite TV shows 'Eureka' a new name was born. I hope you all like it.

A strange thought came to me... isn't it so weird how television adverts make you start liking songs...swear down why is it that i am now in love with The Temper Trap's Sweet Disposition

Anyhoo so i heard this song on this 4Music V Festival advert and i immediately fell in love with it.



It's one of them songs that your like omg i need to find out who made it coz it's too deep. Just the beginning of the song turns me into a frenzy... i loves it. Look at me going crazy overboard over this fine piece of tunage...Any way back to the subject of telly adverts having a huge impact on our listening habits. I say forget forking hundred if not thousands on making a music video, why not get paid to use your songs in adverts instead; i mean this is not the first song i have fallen in love with from hearing it on a an advert.

Quick Question

What can you eat/or make to eat that is quicker than making toast or a sandwhich???? Coz i need to cut down on my bread intake...

Bring on the 90s

I've always been a huge supporter of the 90s era...possibly because i only experinced 2 years of the 80s and i wasn't old enough to understand the music and the culture so i feel a bit of a sellout when i rep the 80s. Fair enough i was born in the 80s (1988 REPRESENTING HAHA!) so i am officially an 80s baby but i grew up in the 90s so technically i'm a 90s child. So to cut a long story short there is this compliation album that has just come out called Big Tunes Back 2 The 90s

Just listening to the majority of the tracklist takes me back to the glory days when i had not
one care on my mind...Happy Days! This is an album that i need to own. My personal rating
stamp on this slice of 90s pie is 8/10.

So I've been the great 2...1 for about 7 months and what can i say i have achieved in this short but long time...absolutely nothing...OK with the exception that i graduated with a 2.1 (yup bowing down and curtsying from your round of applause). I have just realised that it is so tough being 21, the law and government and blah di blah says ur officially an adult (but unofficially u are actually a full blown adult at 25);but you are still considered to be a young person. Yay! i hear you 21 and soon to be 21 year old's cheer! But when it comes to looking for activities for a 'young' 21 year old to do especially in the summer when you have just come out of full time education you find yourself without a job due to forces that are out of your reach and out of your control and you feel like a bum for not doing anything with yourself (breathe)...there is nothing thee everything stops at 19 and you are sitting there being chastised by the public for not doing anything with yourselves...its not a win win situation mate gosh...i think that there needs to be more activities for people that fall into the 20-25 age group bracket...whose with me i think this calls for a revolution don't u?

My vow!!!

Ok so i am making a vow from this day forward to make at least one post a week. I made this blog to air my thoughts and opinions on things and i have since been neglecting it. So from this day forth you will see a brand spanking new post at least once a week that i promise (unless due to unforeseen circumstances and forces beyond my control i am not able to do so).

A Lil Rant

So like I'm graduating on Thursday, but i am so p'd off if you see how much money i have spent on this ting...you would be like why didn't u just get the certificate and bun the ceremony...i am soo angry right now...i went to go and get my hair did...tell me why my hairdresser wants to now tell me after he has fixed the hair to my head that the price has gone up from £60 to £90...he let me off £10 ... but still i am an..ger...ry...looks like I'm on the look out for a new hairdresser and just when i was getting comfy too! But yeah total figure of stupid graduation will be out soon...aww great to get that off my chest starting to feel a bit better now....!!!

A Lil Rant!

Don't you just hate it when you like a song...and have high hopes for the video and when it comes along you are utterly disappointed? This is the case with Drake's new video...i said before i had fallen in love with the song but i have just watched the video and it feels like a chunk of my heart has been ripped off. OK i know its a bit deep but hey when you're rinsing out a song over and over, think damn this is my ringtone! This is my ringtone! You're gonna expect high quality visuals. And what disappoints me even more is that i have heard that it is a video collab with none other than Kanye West! I have real love for KW, but this video has shocked me and i refuse to believe that he has had anything to do with it.


I mean c'mon this is a song that girls and women have fallen in love with. Closing their eyes and saying this is my song! How the hell can you throw a song that means so much to so many females and then show them in misogynous ways in the video. Wow i really love to watch a video where it opens with women with large breast swinging in slow motion... and when i close my eyes and visualise this song i see women covered with sweat patches and booty shots...Great stuff! Oh how that makes me just wanna run down to HMV and buy the CD. Gosh there are so much boob shots, just breasts bouncing everywhere it makes me so mad, i thought we were in a postmodern age where visuals in music videos were becoming more creative and unique. I guess i was wrong and the power of the male gaze lives on. The shot of all the women running up the stairs...bounce...bounce...bounce...i mean was that really necessary. The only thing that excited me about this video was seeing sexy Fab's cameo (oh and Trey Songz and others were in it too!). It is so cheesy.... corny... mate I'm running out of words...if i had to give this video a rating i would have to give it 0/5 no lies I'm actually disgusted, i mean this is why i got 'B' on my dissertation coz the way women are treated in music videos is disgusting.

My overall feelings towards the video= very very poor
However i still like the song and every time i listen to it, in my head my own video will play rather than that peice of ****!

So what's my verdict, i find it quite boring. It's one of them bait RnB videos, tall slim model draped sexually around the artist...blah blah blah... so pasé...I'm feeling the song don't get me wrong, but i just feel that 3:54 minutes of my life have been taken away from me, into something which i can plainly say and repeat again... a world of sexual boredom. This is a post-modern age try doing something more risque...something that will keep me locked on...the only reason why i kept watching is as i said before i actually really like the song...so my final verdict on the video is a wet 1/5 sorry Jeremih work harder next time...lol

So i thought i do some research as i do...and i have to admit I'm loving that 'Best I Ever Had' tune...that is officially now my jaaaam!!! It is always on repeat... sorry neighbours but he is big!!
