I don't care what anyone says Wolf of Wall Street, or Wolfy as I like to call it was definitely one of the best movies I've seen this year and no I'm not just saying that because I'm a massive Leo Fangirl; I actually rate him as a talented actor and thought that he brought this role to life.
One word stairs, that is all!
Anyway saw this floating around and wanted to share it with you, my dedicated followers.
Enjoy, I'm sure your chests will be red raw afterwards.

The Dawn of The Smart Phone
I saw this short film on the interweb and had to share it.
I think everyone should watch it, because just looking on as a spectator, makes the reality of the kind of society that we live in now, just that little bit more sadder.
That restaurant scene was on point, it's sad to say but it's sooooo true. Many a time I've been out and someone around the table has gotten their phone out. Seriously do you really need to capture that picture of your food, you're gonna eat it. Are you gonna take a picture and show us what it's gonna look like when it comes out the other side?!?!?! Jeez!!
I've made a vow to keep my phone in my bag when I'm out, I just think it is one of the biggest social taboos you can make.
I recently went to a concert and right on cue there were the mobile phones out, like little mini lazers. I was like I refuse to take my phone out because I'd rather enjoy the experience then spend my time behind a camera. If I wanted to be a videographer I woulda chosen that as a vocation. Nah b, I'm here to enjoy good music. There was this one girl who had her phone out the whole concert. The sad thing is that when she got home it probably sounded terrible, cos we all know how distorted concert phone videos sound.
There is a time and a place for your phone people. Please don't let your phone rule your life.
It's not a big thing if you miss something. You don't need to capture every moment in life.

Trailer Time: Godzilla (2014) Official First Teaser
Today the first teaser for Godzilla (2014) was released!
Ooooh *excited squeals* this is on my Movie Watch list of 2014, I'm really excited.
I have my fingers crossed behind my back that this is a good-un!
And in homage to the Godzilla remake of my time, I think this calls for a flashback tune or two.

Disney's "The Story Of Menstruation"
Yes you heard correctly, in the archives of Disney sits a short film from 1946 about periods. The 10 minute animated film was shown at the time in health classes across America to discuss and dispel myths about menstruation.
Check it below.
Though very dated with lines such as "It's smart to keep looking smart" and "always keep a fine outward appearance"; I actually found it to be quite informative.
I really want to see a copy of the booklet Very Personally Yours that accompanied it now.

New The Hunger Games Catching Fire Trailer
I'm just gonna go ahead and say it.
I'm really not looking forward to this. Yes you heard me correct. I'm not looking forward to it, it doesn't look that great.
Don't get me wrong I loved the book. Catching Fire in my opinion was the best book in the series.
After watching the first movie and having felt very underwhelmed afterwards, there's no part of me that is excited to see the second instalment.
I might watch it anyway, just to see how it translates on screen, but it's not high on my watch list.

JAY Z "Picasso Baby: A Performance Art Film"
I know I bitch and moan about Jay Z whenever the media goes on and on about how 'oh so amazing' he is as one half of black America's power couple yadiyadiyah, but I'm not gonna lie I do love Jay Z there's something about him that is just so humble and I love the way he speaks.

Catching Fire Trailer
Catching Fire, the second installment in The Hunger Games trilogy has premiered it's first full length trailer. Peep it below.
Here's hoping it does the book justice. Personally I think Catching Fire was the best story in the trilogy and I'll be mighty disappointed if it's crap..

If Drive was a sega game
Everyone knows that Drive was my ultimate film of 2011 and that I was completely obsessed with the soundtrack. Like so obssessed that I would play it on loop every single day. Aaah memories.
So imagine my excitement when I saw this.
Oh how I wish this was a real game! No seriously I would play it. Game-makers you listening?

I'm your dreamgirl
Everyone that knows me knows that I am ob-sessed with Dreamgirls (the soundtrack that is). There is many a time when I will just bust out my One Night Only's, Stepping To The Bad Sides and I Am Changing's.
My ultimate dream is to star in a West end version *pauses to daydream*.
So imagine my excitement when I stumbled over this lil gem.

Back to Black
So after the big backlash, the official full version of Beyoncé's cover was revealed on Mark Ronson's EastVillageRadio.com radio show.
Though I'm like if Beyoncé wants to do a cover of the song let her, it's been done many times before and obviously no version can be better than the late great Amy Winehouse (she set a high ceiling with her original version); what grates me, is that there was no reason for the song to be touched in terms of using it in The Great Gatsby's Official Sound Track, yeah yeah Jay Z is the producer of the OST but seriously why couldn't the original be used. Amy's deep vocals would have been amazing enough to be used, so why couldn't Mrs Carter have jumped on another track? You know what it's obviously just for the hype so why am I even talkiking. Yawn.
Anyway check out the song...

Man of Steel - Trailer
Ooooh I'm actually looking forward to seeing this now. When it was first announced I was a little bit sceptical, because the whole Superman movie thing has been done to death, but this trailer has really whetted my appetite.
Here's hoping that it lives up to it's hype and is a good film, because I have been seriously misled by trailers of recent *cough cough Prometheus cough cough*

Trance Mini-Review
What can I say about Trance?
Ooh ooh, I got one. It put me in a trance.
Haha did you see what I did there? I made a play on the title... cos you know the film is called Trance and it involves people going into trances and... okay I guess you get what I'm saying.
Anywhoo, as a big fan of Thrillers, as you may know some of my faves are Memento and Shutter Island (totally underrated film amazing twists and Easter eggs); I was really excited to go and see this one.
I mean there were so many moments of brilliance, it started off with so much potential. But then somewhere around the middle I got completely lost. That whole hyper reality thing became very baffling. I can recall so many times where my cinema mate would lean over to me with all their theories and all I could reply was "Dude, I have no idea what's going on, I'm so confused."
I really liked the reveal though. I mean yeah though it was partly predictable, there were so many 'oh yeah, I remember when that happened and was like hmm that's a bit odd' moments (tryna not do any spoilers here people). However I wasn't really happy with the end though (I'm talking the end end, the bit that happens right before the credits rolled). I found it very weak and it kinda watered the movie down for me, just felt it was very unnecessary.
Don't get me wrong I'm not saying it was a bad film. I quite liked it, but it wasn't amazing.

Young Adult Mini Review
Okay, so I know this is an oldie, but I don't really get round to watching certain films so I've decided to dedicate small parts of my free-time to catching up on some; so you might see a few more oldie mini reviews floating around on this here blog.
This film was so not what I expected it to be, maybe if I had watched the trailer I might have got some sense of what it was actually about. I totally thought it was gonna be on the same track as 13 Going on 30 (which I also have not seen).
Mavis Gary, a thirty-something ghost writer for a fading young adult fiction series; decides to return home to a small town in Minnesota to win back her married high school sweetheart (who has also just had a baby), you can only imagine the chaos that ensues; cue to many cringey moments where you just wanted her to close her mouth, get back into her Mini Cooper and go home.
It was an alrightish film, but it wasn't really for me. I found it to be quite slow at times and found certain moments too much to watch (in the is she really gonna do this sense). However, the build up of the friendship with former classmate Matt gave the film some redeeming qualities.
