In Tellybox News...

Just heard over on my fave US telly news blog TV Envy that the viewership level for the premier of Entourage's newest season was down by 25%. Now I'm not one to care about viewership levels, as I am not yet in the telly industry (but soon will be *fingers crossed behind back and hoping for a miracle to happen real soon so I can believe that the 3 years I spent at university actually meant something*), but in the past few months I have seen many of my fave shows hitting the chopping block; so I'm praying and hoping that these levels will pick up, because Entourage is up there on my top 10 all time fave shows and I don't know what I will do if it gets cancelled! *screaming* I JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT I WILL DO!!!!

Quote Of The Day

A schoolfriend posted a comment on her facebook page which I want to share with the world, I think it's real deep....

"Planes landed in England today..1 brought back a group of
overpaid, underachieving footballers. The other brought back seven
coffins, each with the Union Jack draped over them. Footballers play for
our country, soldiers FIGHT for our country. Footballers give 90
......minutes, soldiers give their lives. I know who I respect more..."

The Dream Is Over...

So it's official England are coming home... and not with the cup that all us English lot were hoping for.

What is on my mind and I'm sure is on a lot of others is 'What went wrong'? What happened to England being an elite team in the world of football. I mean we invented the damn game so you would kind of expect a team with so much footballing history to be able to make it a little bit further than what we actually did.

I'm not usually big on football; I mean I have my team which I support but truthfully I would have to say that I don't usually follow it. This world cup is the first time I've ever been so passionate and taken time to understand and embrace it, so to not be able to follow a team all the way to the finals is quite disheartening.

However, I'm not as affected as I thought I would be, I've quickly accepted that my teams are out. I knew as soon as we drew with USA that there was no hope, I'm even surprised we made it to the knock out stages to be fair. But there was part of me holding fingers crossed on both hands and wishing for a miracle, but this was not to be the case.

Most know me as a very patriotic person, I swell with English pride, I will forever represent England. But what I witnessed in this years tournament was just pure sloppiness. I mean yesterday's game was abysmal. Where the hell was the defence?!?! No one can fault David James for letting in them goals, because for most of the game he was on his own.

What is going on? England why are we becoming the butt of other's jokes? Gone are the days of people bowing down to England in fear. We used to be a country with so much power and influence and now we are slowly, slowly becoming a joke.

We have footballers that are over paid and lavish in the world of celebrity. These footballers are more concerned with getting 6 figure deals, buying big homes, driving 3 or 4 fancy cars, getting beautiful women, partying hard and getting their faces on the cover of the biggest weekly glossy.

Not that I'm an expert or anything, but I believe if we are to qualify for the World Cup 2014 and go far; we need to get rid of the millionaire footballers that don't take tournament seriously and play with passion, because they ain't getting paid the big bucks they get from their own clubs and recruit the fresher talent that want to do it for the country and play with their heart and souls.

Maybe then we will experience the sheer bliss of 1966...

Michael Jackson: 1958- 2009

A year ago today we lost one of music's greats. The undeniable King of Pop Michael Jackson.

Who rememberer's where they were when they found out, cos I do. I was at home chillin' with the fam when we received a call that Michael Jackson was dead. Now when you get a call like that about someone of his magnitude your first thought is disbelief, we seriously thought it was a hoax. Your second thought is please don't let this be true. Your third thought is hoping for a miracle. Seriously we had the news on all night. It was like something out of the Twilight Zone, I kept thinking I'm going to wake up tomorrow morning and they're going to say that he's fine. But of course a year on, we know that, that was not the case.

I am going to be honest now, when I was younger I wasn't really a die hard fan, I don't mean I didn't like him cos I did but I wasn't one of those Michael is my life people; but as I matured I have grown to really appreciate his music, both as a form of art and as a piece of cultural heritage.

Michael was able to break through so many boundaries and start so many revolutions. This is why I believe that stars today should pay this man homage, because who knows without him, would certain types of music be seen acceptable in mainstream society??

Since he's gone I've really started to appreciate him. I'm learning so much about Michael as a person as well as his music.

His legendary dance moves brought rhythm and soul and even underground moves to the people on a worldwide scale; I mean everyone knows about the legendary 'moonwalk'. This is seen in his legendary Motown 25 performance.

Even his music videos were special. He was able to merge both the elements of film and music and create short films of greatness. Who can forget the 14 minute music video that is Thriller, which I believe is one of the greatest and most influential music videos ever.

No matter what people say about him, good, bad whatever...personally I can say is that he will be truly missed.

Michael Jackson truly was a visionary and I'm glad that in my lifetime I was able to share in the greatness that he was.

It brings a smile to my face when I see my younger siblings get excited over a Michael track and try and do his moves, this shows that his music will live on forever.

In my eyes he will always be a music legend.

Rest in Peace Michael Jackson.

I end this with a few of my all time fave tracks.

Advert of The Week...

In conjunction with my support of England in the World Cup this year... my advert of the week has to be The Carling Team Talk advert. I think it is the Best World Cup advert on telly at the moment.

I love it. It's so powerful. I love the involvement of other English Sports people too. Every time I see it I get these tingles. My fav parts are:

"Do it for Bobby"
"Men of England...It's time to join the immortals"
The shot at the end with a 1966 England footballer and the Lion is so powerful. Just believe!!

I guess I'm just a patriotic kinda girl.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all you dad's out there...

I want to say a Happy Father's day to the only dad I have ever known and will ever love.
Blood or not, you are my dad and my Hero and I will love you til the day I die.

Hero Dad
You are my hero, Dad
You're my secure foundation.
When I think of you, I'm filled with love
And fond appreciation.
You make me feel protected;
I'm sheltered by your care.
You're always my true friend; and Dad,
When I need you, you're always there.
You have a place of honor
Deep within my heart.
You've been my superhero, Dad,
Right from the very start.

Big Brother: Rachael Evicted

Sorry, I am not happy about this at all. How can you evict Rachael??? And how the hell did Sunshine escape this one?!?! Sunshine (and exempting Govan) is the most annoying thing on my screen at the moment. I don't understand how Rachael got the boot. I guess it's just hate, because she's a pretty face.

And I was really looking forward to the development of hate/lust between her and John James...but I guess we will never know now...unless *finger crossed* they put her back in. But the chances of that are very slim. Oh well no female eye candy to look at now. Though I love Corin; her tan is too much to look at.

The Return Of...

Big Brother...yup guys it's that time again and this time it's for the last time. Lol how many times did I say 'time'. Anyhoo, I've already seen that there are  images of people proposed to go in the house, and there has been a lot of rumours like '100 people will be going in' blah blah blah; but we will only know tonight on C4 9pm. For those that know me (I am an anti-bb person); yes I will admit it I shall be watching as it is the last one.

'Show Me The Money'

So I finally watched the iconic film that is Jerry 'You Had Me at Hello' Maguire the other night (late... yes I know) and I can say that I am pretty impressed.

I am not really what you would call a Tom Cruise Fan, but I am reassured to say that his performance in this film was on point; which is something I like about him, I am able to separate the actor from the character.

I was able to relate to his character, and felt myself bonding with him. I know that sounds crazy, but I know what I'm on about. I felt his pain...

Cruise was able to bring warmth and light-heartedness to the role, without it being too over the top.

The relationship between Maguire and Ray, was the highlight of the film for me; it was soooo cute.

Apparently, this particular scene (see above) was ad-libbed,  the director Cameron Crowe, wanted to create a genuine 'feel' between the two (IMDB).

This by far is my fave scene from the movie...

My fave quotes from the film are:
"I don't like black people? I am Mister black people."
"Don't cry at the beginning of a date. Cry at the end, like I do."
"Do you know that the human head weighs 8 pounds?"
And the most famous lines:
"Show me the MONEY!"
 "You had me at hello"

This is my first attempt at doing a movie review... so don't be mean people... show some love xxooxx

I Really Wanna Go

New Video Alert: Lady Gaga Alejandro

Gaga is looking very Madonna-esque in this here video.

Glamour Women Of The Year 2010

Sorry how is it that Cheryl Cole won??? What has she done to be awarded this title? Her husband cheated on her and now she's getting a divorce, so what? This happens all the time, so I guess all those that have been affected by divorce should be awarded then. I don't get why, just because she's been heartbroken why does she deserve to win Woman of The Year. Leaves a bitter taste in my mouth I tell you.

Here's a lil look at some of my fave looks from this years event:

Duffy.
Not too sure about the actual look, but I'm loving the dress....

Claudia Winkleman
Same with this here look, I'm more interested in the jacket...

Nicole Ritche (Entrepreneur of The Year) just oozes simple glamour...love it...

Florence Welch (Band of The Year) Love her music...love the look...

Loving Noamie Harris in this Gold'n Black number...

My new girl crush Karen Gillan looks fresh...

This is by far is my ultimate fave, Zoe Saldana (Best Dressed and Film Actress of The Year), she looks AMAAAZZZINNNG!!!
