So I finally watched the iconic film that is Jerry 'You Had Me at Hello' Maguire the other night (late... yes I know) and I can say that I am pretty impressed.
I am not really what you would call a Tom Cruise Fan, but I am reassured to say that his performance in this film was on point; which is something I like about him, I am able to separate the actor from the character.
I was able to relate to his character, and felt myself bonding with him. I know that sounds crazy, but I know what I'm on about. I felt his pain...
Cruise was able to bring warmth and light-heartedness to the role, without it being too over the top.
The relationship between Maguire and Ray, was the highlight of the film for me; it was soooo cute.
Apparently, this particular scene (see above) was ad-libbed, the director Cameron Crowe, wanted to create a genuine 'feel' between the two (IMDB).
This by far is my fave scene from the movie...
My fave quotes from the film are:
"I don't like black people? I am Mister black people."
"Don't cry at the beginning of a date. Cry at the end, like I do."
"Do you know that the human head weighs 8 pounds?"And the most famous lines:
"Show me the MONEY!"
"You had me at hello"
This is my first attempt at doing a movie review... so don't be mean people... show some love xxooxx
