Three Apple's changed the world...

As I sit here and type, I mourn for a man that I have never met, (and now never will), a man who has inspired me so much with a vision that has changed the way I and many others live their lives.

Yesterday, the world lost a technology legend.

Mr Steve Jobs ‘Co-Founder’ of Apple- 1955 -2011

For as long as I can remember Apple has played a major role in my development. I remember when I was at Primary School, I felt so superior to my mates in other schools when I told them that we had the colourful iMac’s. I remember it like it was just yesterday, the infamous Mac room. A room I spent many a lunchtime in just wondering in the splendour of an exciting new piece of technology, looking on at the boring black PC in the corner of the classroom with disdain and marvelling in the shiny white iMac’s with bright backs; not knowing that this would be the start of my love obsession with Apple products.

Next, came the emate 300; which taught me how to do spread sheets amongst other things. I remember once a week our head teacher would come into class, pop in a classical CD and we would go to town on our emates; learning all about formulas; we thought we were mini-Einstein’s. I felt like Queen Smug when I started secondary school, and told the teachers I already knew how to do spread sheets.

Not forgetting the newer and slimmer iMac’s; learning how to create and edit software opened me up to a side of creativity I never thought I’d be able to explore and in turn my love of technology grew.

What made me fall for and pledge my allegiance for Apple over all other technology, was definitely the introduction of the iPod. I believe that the iPod is the  invention of my generation that I have come to identify the most with.

Though not an owner of a Classic iPod, my love affair with iPod’s, began when I bought my first one; the 2nd Generation iPod Nano in Green. I remember this was the first thing I had ever bought that was over £100 and it was literally my baby, funny thing is I still have it today.  Now I have a 1st Generation iPod touch, which is my pride and joy. I actually cried when it fell on the floor and actually prayed to God in thanks that the screen did not shatter.

For those that know me and those that are long followers of this here blog. They know that my long term passion is to own an iPhone. I’m on a mission; it’s not that I can’t afford one; it’s that I want the latest one. Every time I turn around a newer version is out. Maybe I should just stop holding out and get the iPhone 4S….hmmm but then the prospect of an iPhone 5 is more appealing.

But to move on and stop waffling on about myself. I just want to take a moment to acknowledge a man that created one of the biggest phenomenons of the 21st century.

Three Apples changed the world, the first seduced Eve, the second fell on Newton’s head and Steve Jobs brought us the third, with a small chunk bitten out.

Steve Jobs I salute you. RIP.

To end in the words of the great man himself.

Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish

Matt Cardle Run For Your Life

To be honest even though I love Matt Cardle; I was one of his biggest supporters on X Factor, I'm not really feeling the video (or the song but everytime I hear it it grows on me). It's pants! It's so boring....

This man has got such a special voice so I'm so disappointed that this is the song that I've been waiting nearly a year to hear. Here's hoping the next one glorifies the beautiful voice that brought me to tears in 2010.

Beyonce's Bday

Yesterday was King Bey's birthday. The mother to be spent the day on a private yacht in Venice, Italy.

The 30 year old looked relaxed with Husband, Jay Z and friend Gwyneth Paltrow.

Meanwhile, R&B legend Stevie Wonder sang Happy Birthday to Beyonce at his concert yesterday.

Other stars that wished Beyonce a Happy Birthday include Wendy Williams, Kevin Hart and LeToya Luckett.

Argan Oil The New Beauty Wonder

To all you ladies (and gents) looking for an alternative for the wonder that is Morrocan Oil, VO5 have come up with a cheaper alternative...

Zee's Adventures into the world of acting...

So today I've been going crazy, trying to find out ways to start my acting career.

I've been looking into Drama schools, short courses and even getting an acting coach. It's all too confusing, I know that I need the training, but I just feel too old to do 3 years at Drama School, and I can't afford to take time off to attend... here's hoping that there is an evening and weekends Drama School out there to answer all my prayers *fingers crossed*.

I've literally been on the Stage website all day and to all you aspiring actors out there, this website is gold. The advice section on this website is a must-read!!!

I've also been trying to find a monologue, which is one of the hardest things to do. Finding a monologue that you believe you can bring the truth to is so hard, I'm finding it really difficult. If anyone has any suggestions, I'm looking for a young female (early 20's peferably) contempary british monologue; please don't hesitate to comment.

I'm off to a meeting with my fellow young actors company later today... hopefully it will be a resourceful meeting and we will come up with some good stuff.

Welcome Hollyoaks new sixthformers

Nice to see Tosin Cole (E20 and The Cut) mixed amongst the new Hollyoaks cast.

Beyoncé 1+1 video unvieled

This post is dedicated to the biggest stan I know Jazz u know u loves it xxx

I'm not gonna lie, though quite a powerful song, the video did not blow me away... but Beyoncé did look a-m-a-zing, so I have to give her that.

Bobbygate

Just as I started to give this years Celeb Big Bruv the benefit of the doubt for providing the nation with such a lacklusture cast; I witnessed something so foul, that its still making my stomach churn just thinking about it.

Bobby Sabel the model put his own 'stinkin' sweat into a can and force fed it to Darryn Lyons.

Yes, we know that Darryn has prickish tendencies... hello he's a pap and yeah he does have the case of talking about someone negatively behind their backs... I mean don't we all. But he does not deserve that... what Bobby did was disgusting.

And I for one don't understand how Big Brother can let him get away with it, especially after all that went down with Shilpa Shetty in Celeb Big Brother series 5 (on C4).

I mean isn't that some form of bullying and two that is damn right disgusting, if Bobby doesnt get punished for that I am really going to strat to question Channel 5's morales and persume that they will do anything to keep the ratings up.

First look at Hollyoaks Later promo

I'm not gonna lie I'm really excited!!! I love me some Hollyoaks Later.

Zee's Adventures into the world of acting...

So I've decided to document my journey into the world of acting because I want everyone to know how serious I am about this and to show my passion for wanting to act so badly.

No, not beacuse I want to be famous, that is so not the case; no, its that cliched I've wanted to act ever since I was little.

When I act I feel so alive and powerful, it makes me feel like I have some type of purpose. It is soemthing that I am good at. It allows me to showcase my talents and acts like a vessel for my creativity.

It is such a shame that I've only decided to try and act on a professional scale now, I feel like I've missed out on so much. So I have decided that I am going to do all that is possible to start my career now!!!

On a sour note though, this morning I got a rejection letter from the theatre I auditioned for 2 weeks ago. Though I thought it went really well, especially after the distater audition I had with the agency, unfortunately I was not what they were looking for. It just goes to show that I need more practice with my audition technique.

I didn't get that upset though; I'm doing this new thing, where when I get a rejection I dwell on it for a max of 1 hour then I move on, because in this business you have to have a thick skin and I'm definately going to make my skin thicker.

Is it just me...

... but does anyone else get bothered by car following scenes in TV shows and films?

As a learner driver I am always looking through my mirrors to see who is behind me (ala how close they are), so whenever I watch a car following scenes my first thought is always...

"How is it that the driver in front cannot see that they are being followed, especially if the person that is following them has been following them for time?"

It always gets to me, even when I'm playing games like GTA and I'm on a misson where I have to follow a car (even though I know its programmed into the game), I'm like that person has to know they are being followed!

London has gone craaaaazy!

In all my 23 years of life, I never thought that I would witness something as ludicrous as these "riots"?

I mean I've seen them on the telly and stuff but I'd never thought I'd witness the day that I would see shame-faced looters and massive fires on my own back door step.

The total destruction of shops and houses, is sickening. It's a disgrace! What started out as a peaceful protest turned into utter destruction.

What I don't understand is, if people are angry at the police, why the hell are they damaging buildings and looting. Just using the protest as an excuse to cause havoc and pain, it is ridiculous!

The fact that people are walking around in the broad light of day, just packing their load makes me sick. Yeah, yeah people joke around that they would loot in a situation like this, but I never thought I would see looting to this magnitude.

Even though I'm watching it on the news if feels surreal. You just don't expect to see things like this in modern day Britain.

I believe that anyone that was involved in this debacle, should be ashamed of their selves and expect the punishment that is coming for them.

Apprentice: Revenge of the Nerds

I am so happy that Tom Pellereau won.

He was just so likeable, and it is so nice to see the good guy prevail in something. I felt so sorry for him cos he was always on the losing team, and even though he said things that could have enivtably saved the task no one listened to him. So well done Tom!

I'm so glad that when it came down to the final two, Sir Alan chose Tom over Helen. Don't get me wrong I liked Helen; up until she dropped that bumsucker line about how she had a second business plan to open up a chain of bakeries... um hello have you heard of Greggs, Percy Ingle and the Hummingbird bakery to name but a few...

So well done Tom, I wish you all the success!!!

Shutuuuuuup!

I just heard over at rumourville that Seth MacFarlane (the God that created Family Guy), plans to reboot The Flintstones *moment of silence allowing this news to sink in*

Okay, I've had my moment. I'm both excited and cautious about this news. My first thoughts are Yaaaaay! Good Times! How Amazing! I'm so excited! Best News Ever!

I was a big Flintstones fan when I was young, I used to watch it on Cartoon Network like all the time. I even thought that there was more episodes than there actually were cos I used to watch so many repeats.

However, we all know what happens when there is a reboot of a show from your younger years, it's totally different. You get all excited thinking that it will have the same elements that made you crave it so much when you were younger but you're left wishing for the old version.

I've got one last thing to say though: Yabadabadooo!!!!!!!!!

Chris Brown - Should've Kissed You - Video

I am loving Chris Brown at the moment....

The video's got that laid back vacation vibe, that makes me wanna lug my suitcase off the top of my cupboard and go on holiday with the Motley Crew *hint hint*

Beyonce - Run The World (Girls) - Video

I'm not gonna lie, when I first heard the song I wasn't impressed but I will admit this video has changed my mind.

I loves it!

Leave Britney Alone!!!!

Britney's Back!!! This time with a new video...

I've heard loads of people slating this vid. I personally think it's alright, but I could have done without the studio sections; but besides that and the blatant product placement I thought the video was alright.

We need to stop comparing Britney to her former glory days and move on.

All Of The Lights Video

This is my jaaaaaaam!

The Hype Williams video features Rihanna (wearing an interesting top) and Kid Cudi.

What is the real prize of glamour?

Yesterday I heard a news story which did not shock me. I will not lie it saddened me, but it did not shock me.

20-year old Claudia Aderotimi died from lethal silocone injections in her buttocks, on a quest for a bigger "butt". It has been said that she made the decision to have this procedure after being removed from a previous promo for having a small bum.

She travelled from her home in London to Philedelphia USA, where she took the proccedure which is believed to cost just over £1000.

This is not the first time we have heard of an incident as such, the most famous victim was former Miss Argentina Solange Magnano. Magnano died in Buenos Aires after having a legal operation involving buttock implants as well as injections.

This is such a sad story but it highlights a problem that we as a society face on an ongoing daily basis. We are a society that is obseessed with glamour and trying to morph our bodies into hwta we believe is socially appeasing.

My heart goes out to her and her family.

Rather Be Vain Than Ugly

Beauty and The Beast: The Ugly Side of Prejudice
Channel 4
Tuesday's 8pm

I saw the advert for this programme beforehand and I'm not going to lie, I thought it was going to be something like BBC Three's Snog, Marry or Avoid (which I will admit I watch, you know when it's late at night and there is nothing else on), so I was surprised to see that this show had so much more content than being a platform for the new breed of 'glamour girls' to promote themselves.

This week me met Yasmin Disney (who I'm guessing is not a distant relative of Walt Disney, or maybe so); her crime was that she wanted to get a breast reduction and lipsocution.

Her week long flat mate was Leo, who suffered an accident when he was 14, leaving him with third degree burns. It was so sad hearing the suffering that he had been through; but he had ended up being so strong.

It shocked me hearing that a survey on careers, resulted in 80% saying that they aspired to being glamour models.

It seems that being a glamour model is all the rage these days, no disrespect to them, do what you've got to do. But just remember people are looking up to you; young impressionable girls.

In the beginning my first impressions of Yasmin, was that she was a bit ditzy, but verging on the end I gained some respect for her.

Belle's Back

I'm both excited and saddened by the return of Secret Diary of a Call Girl.

Excited because one of my favourite British television shows is back, but saddened because I know this is the last series and that in 8 episodes we will being saying bye to Belle and the secret world of the call girl forever.

We meet up with Belle, who is just back off her hols (with an extremely rich client of course) and she's got a new secret to tell us... every London woman's fantasy... she's only gone and got herself a house.

Her first client of the season is lawyer Liam (who is coincidently Stephanie's lawyer, but we will get to that in a minute). Liam has a problem, he can't seem to reach the big 'O'; no matter what Belle tries nothing happens.

It's not until a visit to his office does Belle find out the cure to his problem. Donning a wig and gown (whilst having little tryst in his office, with the door slightly ajar) she finds that Liam can only be satisfied when there is a risk factor of being caught.

In regards to Stephanie, we find out that she has got herself into a 'little' bit of trouble and is in jail for money laundering. She tries to convince Belle (who at first resists) to hold the reigns of the 'business' whilst she is inside. When Belle finally accepts, she returns home to find that she has a new house guest, Stephanie's daughter.

All throughout the show we see Belle ignoring calls from Ben. Though I am a Ben fan, I find his 'longing' for Belle a bit boring. Move on....

I don't want Belle (a.k.a. Hannah) and Ben to get together, I want them to stay best friends. I believe that this is a line that they should never cross. It just gives the justification to the belief that men and women can't be friends, which drives me crazy.

The Sky is The Limit...

Today the digital giant that is Sky, unleashed its new channel Sky Atlantic on channel 108.

You may have also noticed that some channels have been reshuffled and others have had a makeover ala SkyLiving (previously known as Living).

I'm not going to lie, I will be watching Sky Atlanic no matter how much I moan and whine, I've got to say it's actually nice to be able to watch some American television all in one place.

"Let's Talk About Sex Baby"

Usually I'm an advocote of the programes that Channel 4 Broadcast, but The Joy's of Teenage Sex takes the biscuit.

Yes, I'm aware that teenagers are having sex, and no I'm not trying to sweep it under the carpet; but right now we are going through a teen pregnancy epidemic and STI's amongst teens is on the uprise.

I am fully supportive of programmes that educate young people about sex, but this programme is going to extremes and teaching them techniques. I'm sorry, I don't know about you, but I feel that is the wrong approach. I feel that the message that is coming from this show is that "it's alright to go out there and have sex" instead of teaching people about the fundamentals and also the emotional side to sex.

The issues that they do discuss seem to have the same topic running through them each week
Week one the partcipants are learning how to give oral sex...
Week two the participants are learning how to give oral sex...
I'm guessing next week they are going to teach the particpants about oral sex...

And what is with those graphic sex scenes; there is actually  no need for them. Where is the line between educational video and porn???

Redheads Rule!!!

If anyone asked me, what colour I would dye my hair if I could... I would have to say RED!!! I am totally addicted!

If I see a pic of a woman sporting healthy red hair I am totally hooked (on the hair, not the woman). It is a well known fact amongst friends that I am totally in love with red hair; I mean when I started playing The Sims, all the Sims I created had red hair.

I am a red hair fanactic, I guess that why I am so excited that redheads are practically owning it now, with celebs like Rihanna and Cheryl Cole opting into the redhead craze.

I forecast 2011 to be a redhead phenomena....

Britain's Fattest Man

Ipswich man Paul Mason, is Britain's Fattest Man and was the main focus of a documentary on Channel 4 last night.

Last year he was in the news for being the world's fattest man at a reported 70st, and caused outrage when it was reported that it was costing the public £100,000 a year to look after him.

I know that what this man had done to himself was self inflicted and to be honest he only has himself to blame, I mean eating three 24 packs of crisps and 30 bars of chocolate on a daily basis wasn't going to give him the title of Britain's Slimmest Man; but I couldn't help feeling sorry for him. When he was telling us how he had no friends and his only company came from the 12 hour carer he had was so heartbreaking. The scene where he received a phone call telling him that the money he got that was used to pay for his care was to be slashed in half was hard to watch. Just knowing that he wouldn't be able to rely on his carer for company any more was shown through his devastated tears.

Watching the advert previous to watching the show I must admit I had preconceived ideas about him. I believed that I would find a man that was getting bigger and bigger and eating more and more. When the show opened and I saw that he had 3 slices of toast, all I could think was well there I stand corrected. But as the show went on I saw a side to him that I was not expecting.

This man wanted to lose weight and he was serious. Unlike other super obese people that had been the subjects in other documentaries, he did not have a family bucket of KFC strapped to his hand whilst in his hospital bed, he was eating milk jellies and expressing to us all that he no longer had cravings, he told us that if someone came in with steak and chips, he would keep to those milk jellies. Seeing him in a supermarket planning to eat mince filled peppers and looking at lean meat, made me feel so triumphant for him.

Seeing the transformation, from start to finish, was so heart-warming. I wish him every success in his future and hope that he continues of his journey to shed the weight, to become more health and go on to live a normal life.

Marsha Ambrosius - Far Away

Marsha Ambrosius - Far Away

This is such a powerful and very much needed video.

With the recent suicides that were brought to light a few months ago, this video has come at a time where people need to be made aware that the actions they have toward people have consequences.

Ambrosius wrote the song, after a close friend attempted suicide, she says that the video will speak for those who don't have a voice.

It is sad to know that there are people who feel that they have no other choice besides suicide. I believe that people need to stop bullying people because of their sexuality and to stop using violence and hurtful words towards a situation they don't understand.

Kudos to you Marsha for making a video that speaks for all those who feel they are
