*taking a moment to collect this in my thoughts*...........
*Okay breathe*
Finally!!!!!! Those that know me, know that I have a love hate relationship when it comes to BBC iPlayer, there have been times when I could have caused some serious damage to my head after the numerous hair pulling occasions; where I've been watching a programme only to have an annoying dotted circle circulate the screen.
ShinyShiny have outlined the changes on their site. These are:
- Friends- iPlayer has taken a leaf out of the books of many and introduced a way for users to 'share'. You will now be able to Recommend programmes to friends.
- Integration with Windows Live Player- I think this is one of the best features. Users will be able to log-on with Windows Live and see which of their friends are using iPlayer, what they are watching, and talk to them about it. You will also be able to sink your player with theirs and watch exactly what they are watching.
- Link Partnerships- I am also feeling this. A nice bit of unity. You will also be able to find content from other platforms. Such as ITV Player, 4OD and Five Demand. I hope this stretches to the Wii also, would be nice to see some catchup TV on the ol' tellybox.
But most importantly, there will be improvements to the playing quality and downloads. I am officially a happy bunny.
Check out this video which shows you a little bit more about the new features:
